The UWSP chapter of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a student organization devoted to developing member knowledge about the field of Communicative Disorders, participating in university and community service activities, and having fun! NSSLHA is a great organization to be involved in whether you are considering a major or are currently majoring in communication sciences and disorders. It is a wonderful way to gain valuable volunteer experiences as well as meet new people, including; community members, fellow students, professors and staff. NSSLHA is involved in many fun and exciting activities throughout the school year including; a department Spring Picnic, Highway clean-up, Halloween party for the children of the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, volunteering at Head Start Preschool, spending time with nursing home residents and much more!
With a current membership of over 650 practitioners, researchers, educators, and students, WSHA is the professional organization for communication disorders in the State of Wisconsin.
